Getting the Flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others against the flu. It is especially important for Health care workers to get the flu vaccine, as they are in regular contact with the elderly who are at a greater risk.

The NHS recommends that you receive your annual flu vaccine if you are 65+ or have health conditions. If you fall into this category you have a higher risk of becoming more seriously ill if you catch the flu compared to those who are younger.

Getting the vaccine means if you were to become ill with flu, it will be much milder and you would overcome it a lot more quickly. The more people who get a vaccine means the less pressure we are putting onto our NHS which is important during COVID-19.

You can get your flu vaccine from your local pharmacy or make an appointment at your GP.
