About us
Established since 1994
Orchard Homecare Services Limited has been established since 1994 & provides Home Care to Service Users in Chester-Le-Street, Stanley, Consett, Durham and The Dales.
High quality care in the community
We aim to provide a high quality service to Service Users of all ages in their own home respecting their independence, privacy and dignity.
All of our staff will assist with individual needs and requirements in accordance with clients’ wishes to promote good quality care at all times.
Our dedicated team of Care Workers ensure the health & care of the Service User is in the very best hands.
Carefully chosen care workers
All of our Care Workers are chosen carefully with full reference checks & Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks carried out. Regular training is also provided to Care Workers to ensure the best quality of care is given at all times.
Contract work
Orchard Homecare Services Limited carry out contract care for Durham County Council Social Services, along with care for Service Users funded via the PCT & Direct Health (CHC). We also provide care for Service Users who come to us direct on a ‘Private’ contract.

The Company operates 365 days a year – Day Care between 7.00am and 10.00pm.
Night sits can be provided between 10.00pm and 7.00am.

- 90% of service users believe that their care worker encourages them to be as independent as possible. 90%

Our latest employee survey results (May 2023)
- 100% of staff received shadow training, in house classroom training and online training with only 5% of people feeling like they require further training such as refresher training in manual handling and end of life care. 100%
- 94% of staff felt they either “always” or “sometimes” received constructive feedback from management with the vast majority feeling they are supported from their Coordinator/Manager. 94%
- 84.2% of staff felt that care plans both online and in the service users property are clear enough in order for them to deliver the service effectively. 15.8% said “other”. 84.2%
- 89.5% of staff felt like they are supported by and are given enough praise and recognition from their Senior/Co-ordinator. 89.5%
